More holiday visits

I also got to visit my other cousins at the place more affectionately known as the 'house of fluff' or, alternatively, the collie farm. I had so much fun here because every night after dinner we got more cookies. At first I got a bit overexcited about this because I was a bit worried that short little me would get lost among the fur...but I got my turn every time. I think I gained about 3-4 pounds at least from all the cookies...it was great! All the while though, there was another dog there...I think her name was Bailey. I saw her at one point through the glass doors and smelled her in other rooms but Ryan said she doesn't get along with other dogs. I sort of understand because I know I feel that way about some other dogs too.

There were also these funny looking brown things I kept barking at that were behind a fence...I think they were called chickens...I really had this urge to eat them, though I don't know what they are. I also got a bit freaked out by these really big strange looking dogs they called 'horses.'
I have my suspicions that they aren't really dogs at all...they were way too big and their heads and their fur were funny-looking.

I am glad to be home though. It's pretty stressful trying to keep myself at the center of attention with all those other dogs and people around. Now Ryan and Sara can just focus all their attention on me. Here's a picture of me and the collies, and another with echo...I get along best with her.

visiting my cousins

Sara and Ryan and I are up visiting my doggy cousins right now.I didn't like the car ride much, because I hate riding in the car. It makes me very upset and I cry and bark. But this time I got to eat a bone, so it wasn't as bad as usual.

First we went to visit Tobi, who lives with Sara's parents. He is a rescue dog too, and we are best friends! We love to play games, cuddle, and chase each other. I even taught him to play tug-a-war -- see the picture.

There was this weird dog also visiting Tobi. He's really old and doesn't like to play games. I tried each and every toy, but whenever I waved the toy in his face he growled at me to go away.

Now I'm visiting my other doggy cousins who live with Ryan's parents. They're really big collies and there are five of them. Even though they are way bigger than me, we like to run around the farm and bark at things -- it's really fun! I especially like Echo, because she is also a second-hand dog. She doesn't know much about people, but that's okay because I don't know much about dogs so we can teach each other.

just lounging

had a pretty stressful day on Wednesday ... these strange people were climbing up on ladders all around the house. Ryan said they were just cleaning the gutters but I think they were coming to get us, so I spent the whole three hours barking at them. I'm not sure Ryan really appreciated it because he was trying to study for his last exam...but I was only trying to protect him.

Now it's Saturday, so I'm just going to lounge around the house. (hmm...I guess I do that all the other days of the week too.)

Christmas is coming and I can't wait to go up island to see my friends Tobi, Dal las, Banjo, Cody, Leighlou, and Echo. I also get to bark at the horses and goats and chickens...though I'm not sure they appreciate it as much.

Back to being my fuzzy-sausagey self...

Scubee-dini and the case of the scary beeping

I've been very busy having great adventures!

A couple nights ago, I pulled a houdini. Ryan and Sara were inside, when they all of a sudden realised that I wasn't there. I was in the backyard -- hehehehe! No matter how much they keep asking me, I won't tell them how I got the back door open all by myself!

Then last night, the power in our block went out. This happened a few weeks ago, and it was very scary. When the power went out last time, Sara and Ryan went to bed, but I woke them up with my crying. When Sara came down to ask me what was wrong, I was still very worried about Ryan and tried to climb the ladder to their loft bed. I was very very scared, and eventually Sara and Ryan realised that the reason I was so upset was because of the scary beeping noise the smoke detector started making when its power supply was cut off. People are so dense sometimes!

At least last night, as soon as the power went out, my people knew to immediately climb up on the ladder on top of the table to disconnect the fire alarm. This would have been funny to watch, since we have high ceilings, except that I had to go hide in the bathroom until I knew it was safe to come out.

I think I've had enough adventures for a little while, and will go have a nap now. I especially like to nap on the window seat.

poor me!

Right now, I'm home all alone. Ryan is at school and Sara is at work.

I cried when Ryan left, and Sara sat me down and reminded me how I'm a big boy now and can stay home alone. When I first found my forever home, I didn't like to be left alone even for a second -- I even insisted on following Sara into the bathroom. I've worked hard at learning to trust people, and my people say they are very proud of me.

Sara told me Ryan will be home early this afternoon, and when she left she gave me treats in my kong ... most days are fine and I just sleep until someone comes home, but on dark & rainy days like today
all I want to do is cuddle with someone on the couch. Then I remind myself that I'm a very lucky wienerblab, unlike many other doggies.

fufu

Hey there, me again. So we were out on our morning breakfast delay tactic (a.k.a. walk) and we came across this little white fufu dog named toby, when all of a sudden, for no good reason, toby's person said in a condescending tone "oh, look at that...it's a big dog with little tiny legs."

so i decided to eat toby...but Ryan wouldn't let me..and then he offered me some food and I forgot all about wanting to eat toby...you know how all that fur can get caught in your teeth...oh well...if she calls me funny looking, that fufu is mine. :)

back to my nap.

Helping with the vacuuming

I like to help. I help Sara and Ryan all the time.

I help with lots of things, but one of my very favourite things is vacuuming. Vacuuming is complicated, and people often need help to make sure they catch all the dust bunnies and fur balls.

My favourite part is when, if I've been good, we vacuum me.

I know some dogs are scared of vacuums, but I like them a lot. They may be noisy, but they give me a very nice massage.

Silly people

I just woke Sara and Ryan up about ten minutes ago. Such silly people, they thought it was Saturday and didn't set their alarm clock. I don't know what time it is but I know it's way past my breakfast time for a weekday. Now they're probably going to take the car to get Sara to work and I won't get my walk until Ryan gets back.

People are so weird.

so...what's a wienerblab?

Hi, my name is Scubee and I'm a wienerblab.

In response to your first question, a wienerblab is a new exotic breed of dog...I'm actually part black lab, part american staffordshire terrier, and part daschund (aka wienerdog). I'm not really going to get into the details of how such a breed came about, I'll just leave that to your imagination.

This is my new blog and I'll just talk about the things that excite me...namely, food, and anything that makes a noise, and my people, Ryan and Sara. You'll also see great pictures of me so that you're not left wondering if such a breed of dog exists. Right now I'm actually sitting under Ryan's chair looking for this fly I keep trying to eat.

Until later...ArRRRrrarararRRRrrrr
